Six Reasons Your AC Is Blowing Warm
Each one produces the same symptom at the vent. Only proper diagnosis tells you which one you’re dealing with.
Low Refrigerant / Leak
The most common cause. AC systems are sealed — if refrigerant is low, there’s a leak. Simply recharging without finding the leak means you’ll be back in weeks.
Failed Compressor
The compressor pressurises the refrigerant. When it seizes or the clutch stops engaging, there’s no compression cycle and the entire system stops cooling.
Clogged or Damaged Condenser
The condenser sits in front of the radiator and dissipates heat. Road debris, bugs, or bent fins block airflow — and without airflow, the refrigerant can’t cool down.
Electrical Fault
A blown fuse, a bad relay, a faulty pressure switch, or a wiring issue can prevent the compressor from ever turning on — even when the refrigerant charge is full.
Blend Door Actuator
This small motor controls the hot/cold air mix inside the dash. When it fails, hot air from the heater core leaks into the AC airflow — you feel warm air even though the AC is working.
Blocked Expansion Valve / Orifice Tube
The metering device controls refrigerant flow into the evaporator. If it’s clogged with debris, refrigerant can’t enter the evaporator and the air stays warm.

Not every AC issue is an emergency — but some of them get expensive fast if you wait.
